Best Time to Visit Auli
The best time to for Auli is between Mid Nov – Mid March. It is in
these months that Auli receives heavy snowfall and one has good
opportunity to enjoy skiing and other winter sports here. The beauty of
the place also increases during the winter, while everything is covered
in snow, the monochrome does have its own charm. Carrying of heavy
woolens is advisable.
Where is the Auli?
Auli is in Chamoli district of Garhwal Region of the state of
Uttarakhand. It is a highland pasture and lies at an elevation ranging
between 2500 and 3500 metres. The ski slopes in Auli are located at an
altitude of 3,048 mts. This beautiful town is situated 16kms from the
famed Joshimath. One can either drive to Auli or take a cable car ride.
How to Reach Auli?
By Air: The nearest airport to Auli is Jolly Grant
in Dehradun, which is at distance of about 275 kms away from Auli.
Flights from Delhi are at regular intervals and the airport is well
connected to other major cities of India.
By Rail: The nearest and most convenient railway
station is at Haridwar, which is situated at about 285 kms away. Regular
trains play between several major Indian cities and Haridwar.
By Road: Joshimath, which is 16kms from Auli is
well-connected by road with Haridwar, Rishikesh and Dehradun. There are
also buses from places like Chopta at regular intervals. Private taxis
are also available between Auli and major places in Uttarakhand along
with Delhi.
Auli Snow View Trek (Detailed Itinerary)
Day 01: Delhi – Haridwar – Rishikesh
In the morning take an AC train for Haridwar at 06:50 hrs from Delhi. . After arriving in Haridwar, meet our representative, who will help you transfer to Rishikesh and check-in to your hotel. Evening time is free for leisure activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.Day 02: Rishikesh - Joshimath (245kms / 8hr)
Post breakfast, we shall drive to Joshimath via Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnprayag. On arriving at Joshimath, check into your hotel. In the evening, visit Shankaracharya Math and Narsingh Temple. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.Day 03: Joshimath - Auli (By Ropeway)
Today, you have the chance to take a ride of the cable car in Auli (on your own). Upon arriving in Auli, check-in to the hotel.Day 04-05: Auli
After the breakfast today, we shall trek to Gorson Bugyal, which is 3kms from Auli. During this short trek, get an opportunity to see beautiful ranges of Himalaya. Enjoy skiing here. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.Day 06: Auli - Rishikesh (245kms/ 8hr)
After an early breakfast, we will get back to Joshimath (By Ropeway). Arrive at Joshimath and then drive to Rishikesh. Check into a hotel Rishikesh for an overnight stay.Day 07: Rishikesh - Delhi (230kms/6hr)
Early in the morning, drive to Haridwar, from here we shall catch AC train for Delhi at 06:05 hrs. Arrival at Delhi by 11:45 hrs.Tour & Services End.
