About Jalori Pass Trek
Located at a distance of about 100 kilometres from Shimla in Kullu,
Jalori Pass is positioned away from the hustle and bustle of the tedious

Best Time to Visit Jalori Pass Trek
Season for this trek is from mid-June to mid-October. In the early
days of the season we will catch a lot of snow on the high passes which
reduces considerably by August. As the season proceeds we might catch
rain towards Kullu-Manali valley but on the other side in Spiti, we will
have sunny days. Days are generally going to be sunny and warm (12-20
°C) while the night temperature at the highest campsite would be in the
range of -2 to 6 °C. In the latter part of the season (Sep – mid-Oct)
there is very little snow on the trail and good weather throughout but
with possibility of snowfall. The days are sunny with temperatures
hovering around (12-18 °C) the evenings start getting cold with the
onset of October and nights are comparatively colder (- 6 to 4 °C).
Where is the Jalori Pass Trek
Extremely dangerous and outlying, Jalori is a high mountain pass,
which is located at an elevation of 10570 ft (3223m) in Himachal
Pradesh's Karsog valley. To reach the Jalori Pass, one will have to go
through extreme and adverse climatic condition and tough turf. To
approach the peak, one should trek during April and December. Winters
are just not the right to trek as the area receives heavy snowfall and
it reaches approximately 20 feet.
How to Reach Jalori Pass Trek?
Nearest Airport: The Kullu Manali airport at Bhuntar
Town (about 50 km south of Manali and 10 km south of Kullu town) is the
nearest airport. Indian Airlines and some private airlines have regular
flights to the airport (But due to bad visibility most of the time
flight cancelled). Chandigarh airport is the nearest international
airport.
Nearest Railway Station: Jogindar Nagar is the
nearest railway station (lies 166 km from Manali). The other convenient
rail heads are at Chandigarh and Pathankot.
By Road: Manali is well connected by road with
Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Shimla, Dharamsala and
Chamba/Dalhousie. Regular buses ply between these stations. It is
connected with Leh during July to October.
There are Lots of Buses that operate between Both Delhi and Manali.

Tourism operates buses those starts from Delhi in between 16:30 hrs –
1800 hrs in the evening and reach Manali the next morning.
Jalori Pass Trek (Detailed Itinerary)
Day 01: Delhi - Manali (510 kms/ 12- 13 hrs)
By evening drive to Manali by AC Volvo coach. Overnight journey.
Day 02: Manali
On arrival in Manali by morning, meet our guide who will transfer you
to the hotel for relaxing & acclimatisation. Rest of the day is
free at leisure where in you can visit Hadimba Devi Temple, old Manali
and the Mall road. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 03: Manali - Sahiropa
After breakfast in the morning, we will drive in Kullu Valley. We
will leave the main road after a drive of 70 kms. Thereafter, we will
enter Sainj National Park till Sahiropa. On arrival set out a camp for
an overnight stay.
Day 04: Sahiropa - Baghi
Since it will the first day of trek, we will leave in the morning for
a gradual climb through forest of pine cider to the Bhihari village
with its traditional mountain architecture situated a top of the ridge
as well providing extensive view of the valley, temple of the Shringa
Rishi (Saint Shringa) impressive role in Indian Mythology is in direct
vision. Further, we will go for a short walk to the temple with its
Shikhra style of stricture, inside the temple impressive carving which
is representing mythological history of India although lord Vishnu visit
temple and pay homage to the Saint Shringa, camp site close to the
temple. Enjoy delicious dinner followed by an overnight stay in tents.
Day 05: Baghi - Jhibhi
Today morning, we will leave from Baghi to Jhibhi, which is around 6
hrs journey. An ancient nine story castle was built by queen Chehni,
Thus, the name Chehni derived from the queen. Marechh may take over from
her. Latter British took over this castle, Raja Maan Singh was the last
king .of this castle. In 1905 AD Due to heavy earth quake in India its
top three floors has been collapsed and it was rebuilt immediately. On
the top floor, the main place of the Saint Shringa is remaining through
his mask, one can climb up to pay the homage. (Those who have vertigo
problem are not advised to climb up.) Thereafter, we will leave the
Chehni Kothi and continue through the forest is well known for its
flora, on the way lunch stop on ideal place, easy walk to the camp site.
Day 06: Jhibhi - Shoja
In the morning after breakfast, we will leave to walk on an easy
trail in beginning through villages till Ghyaghi, cross a stream and
steady climb for 3 hours to Shoja village, camp site after short
distance out of village. It is one of the most beautiful sites providing
breathtaking view as well dominating the valley. Enjoy an overnight
stay in Shoja in tents.
Day 07: Shoja - Khanag (2400 mts/7872 ft)
After breakfast in the morning, we will leave Shoja early in the
morning, as it is a long day. The trek starts, 6 hours, over Jalori pass
(3115 m) via Sarau Sar (holy lake). It winds through the lovely dense
forests teeming with an amazing variety of bird life. Chances of
spotting the Himalayan black bear and the elusive Monal Pheasant are
quite good. From the pass, easy ascend to the lake dedicated to the
local God Descend to the campsite in Khanag. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 08: Khanag - Tarala (2300 mts/7544 ft)
Today morning, we will proceed for a gradual ascend and steep path
leads to the Beem village. After level, the walk offers a magnificent
view of the surrounding hills. After a relaxed lunch on the fringe of a
forest, the campsite of the Tarala is reached with a beautiful ground of
rest house nestling by the wood. Take pleasure of an overnight stay in
camp in Tarala.
Day 09: Tarala - Kullu Sarahan (2150 mts/7052 ft)
The morning after breakfast we will from Tarala to Kullu Sarahan. The
trail gains height and passes through thick forests. High up in the
trees, the Himalayan lagoons (monkeys) particular to this area, can be
seen swinging and chattering. After lunch, we will take a short walk to
the beautiful campsite. The 5515 m-high Sherkhand Mountain is
mythological significance, being abode of Lord Shiva, but also affords a
beautiful panorama. It is indeed one of the most beautiful camp sites
of the trek. An overnight stay in camp.
Day 10: Kullu Sarahan - Arsu (1920 mts/6298 ft)
The day is fixed for a pleasant walk to the campsite. Thereafter,
proceed for a short 5 hr journey to Arsu. This trail is short, however,
it offers a nice view of the valley. Enjoy an overnight stay in tents in
Arsu.
Day 11: Arsu - Rampur (1850 mts/6068 ft)
Today is the last day of the trek. We will leave from Arsu in the
morning to Rampur, which can be seen at a far distance, other side of
the river. After check in the hotel, we will leave to explore the
ancient capital. Overnight stay at the hotel in Rampur.
Day 12: Rampur - Shimla (Approx 135 kms/4 - 5 hrs) - Delhi
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Shimla. On arrival
in Shimla, check in to the hotel for relaxation. In the evening, we will
board an AC Volvo coach for an overnight journey to Delhi.
Day 13: Delhi
Arrival at Delhi by morning.
